Project
Situated around 30km off the west coast of the Orkney isles, the West of Orkney Windfarm is a joint venture between 3 major wind energy players. Once completed, the development will boast up to 125 fixed foundation wind turbines and five offshore substations, while the network will be connected to shore via five export cables. The project has received planning permission for the onshore works and is awaiting consent from Scottish Ministers for the offshore infrastructure, with first power expected by 2030.
Our Involvement
The West of Orkney Windfarm had the requirement for project management software to support the development of the project as it progresses through each stage. The entire project team utilise Prism Apps daily, adopting multiple modules including Action Tracking and Management of Change.
Additionally, the West of Orkney Windfarm requested estimating support as they enter the concept phase of the development. The support involved pulling together a robust and coherent cost book for their reference case.
